Pipeline valves are specified through the applicable edition of the project standard plus purchaser requirements. Design, materials, testing and documentation must be agreed before manufacture.
Scope definition
Identify valve type, bore, pressure class, end connection and service fluid.
Design requirements
Review piggability, cavity relief, drain and vent, antistatic and stem retention requirements.
Testing
Project requirements may add high-pressure gas, fugitive-emission or fire testing to standard production tests.
Documentation
Confirm drawings, material certificates, procedures, test reports and data-book format.
