Seat material controls media compatibility, temperature range, shut-off and operating torque. A familiar material name is not enough; compound grade and actual process conditions matter.
EPDM
Common for water, HVAC and many dilute chemicals, but generally unsuitable for petroleum oils.
NBR
Often selected for oil-bearing water, air and compatible hydrocarbon service within its temperature limits.
PTFE
Offers broad chemical resistance but requires careful review of pressure, temperature, liner design and torque.
Selection data
Provide fluid concentration, cleaning chemicals, minimum and maximum temperature, pressure and required leakage class.
Information to include with an enquiry
Provide nominal size, pressure rating, medium, temperature, connection standard, materials, operating method, required testing and project documentation. Greysen will review the duty and confirm the final configuration in the approved data sheet.
